Using iRules to optimize Oracle SQL

We are thinking of using the LTM to front-end traffic to an Oracle RAC cluster. Can you describe "best practice" approaches to exploiting iRules to improve performance for SQL calls to Oracle? For example, one thought is to segregate routing of SQL Select calls to a different pool than SQL update calls. What advice can you provide on this as well as other performance optimizations?

Thanks,

David

Hi David, you may want to check out this posting for a similar question someone else had asked a little while ago.

Unfortunately we don’t have any solutions that we can point you to at this moment. If you are willing to take a stab at the rule or maybe provide a little bit more information on the Oracle wire protocol (I think it’s called TNS) we will do our best to help you with what we can.
