Oct 15, 2009User Access To Multiple Partitions
I need to give an user access to multiple partitions, using the GUI it only allows you to select a single partition.
Is there another way to give access to multiple partitions ?

Hi,
I think you're limited to all partitions or just one for write changes. You could create two users which each have access to one partition. You could also open a case with F5 Support and ask them to support users with access to multiple partitions.

I've opened a case with F5 support.
Thanks

Unfortunately, partitioning is not very flexible (even in 10.x as I understand it).. I don't think this is possible. - DeVon_Jarvis

We actually wanted the same thing, and have gone through getting an RFE created for this feature. If you reference the RFE, maybe it will get some priority! Here is the text from my prior case with what we were asking for:
I'm happy to report Dev has accepted your RFE and a new CR has been created to track and implement that new feature.

CR122678: "RFE: AuthZ provide ability to have roles in multiple partitions"
From Subcase C528578-2, though we have heard this from multiple customers in the past. In fact, I thought that we already had a CR for this but couldn't find one, so here it is.
a) Assign more than one partition to each user. For example, user1 has access to partition A and B.
b) Be able to assign a role to each partition the user has access to. For example user1 has Operator privilege to Partition A, and Manager on Partition B and Guest on Partition C.

F5 support did pick up it's an existing feature request, but gave a different CR number. My request is now added to the queue.
Thanks

Hi Tiaan,
Can you let us know what the RFE CR is you received? Was it any different than CR122678?
Thanks,

Hi Aaron,
They said it was originally requested under CR122678, same as you quoted above.
Thanks
Tiaan
