I am trying to setup an iRule or Pool that has 2 servers that are primary. They take the traffic, but if one fails, then it goes to a 3rd server. The 3rd server is older and slower, so I only want traffic if 1 or 2 fail. I tried priority settings, but seem to keep getting sessions on the 3 server. My VIP is defined via iAPP.
What is the best way to do this?

Amit_KarnikThe priority activation should be the right approach in this case.
- Make sure pool member 1 and member 2 have the higher priority , let say "5"
- The pool member 3 should have lower priority, lets say "1"
- Make sure the "Priority Group Activation" in the Pool Members screen is set to "Less than" "1"

egarrison_17852I was missing the Priority Group Activation settings. That is likely why I kept getting a little traffic over on 3. I had the high priority, but it seemed like it was ignored sometimes.
