Unable to ping out from F5

Hello All,

I am unable to ping to anything from F5 box out to WWW, however I am able to ping from any nodes sits behind the F5.

So F5 ---> WWW --- doesnt work

However

Nodes i.e. application node ----> F5 -----> www.google.com --------- work.

Also when I do ping www.google.com from F5 it does find the IP address of google but doesnt go anywhere same thing goes for telnet.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

  • If you are talking about default gateway yes have done that, otherwise node which sits under the F5 wont be able to get out to the internet?

    can you try static host route (i.e. /32 route)?

    it is also possible to use virtual server's pool to send traffic to Internet.

    How many default route you have ? , I'm just thinking that you have management IP configured in eth0, you can verify by executing netstat -rn on CLI , if you have two default route. you need to create static route pointing on the correct exit interface.
