When attempting to disassociate a health monitor from a pool in the UI, the drop down list doesn't display any health monitors to disassociate.

NimbostratusPool Monitors don't come in a drop down box, they come in a list box. Probably you might me looking at the wrong place. Go Pools --> properties and move the monitor from selected to available.
