Unable to add floating IP on VE Edition

hello,

 

i have a v11.4.1.608 VE edtion named "bigipA1" internal SelfIP(10.128.10.241) created using defaulting setting: traffic group: traffic-group-local-only partition:Common

 

While i'm trying to add floating IP(10.128.10.240), it keeps saying: The requested self IP address (/Common/internal) already exists in partition Common.

 

Any idea?

    Yes, i did use the same name "internal" for both, unfortunately, it seems it doesn't allow a selfIP and its floating IP to use the same name

     

    The funny thing is it worked if i changed floating IP to "Int" or anything other than "internal". But is this the normal configuration? i doubt

    it's not that case in v10, is this one of the changes that's being made from v10 to v11?

    Mystery resolved: i ran the setup utility from scratch, completed basic settings, just realized it's indeed v11 has changed its way to configure floating IP: selfIP & floatingIP can't use the same name

     

    this is what i've got: 10.128.10.24010.128.10.240255.255.255.0externaltraffic-group-1Common 10.128.10.24110.128.10.241255.255.255.0externaltraffic-group-local-onlyCommon 10.128.20.24010.128.20.240255.255.255.0internaltraffic-group-1Common 10.128.20.24110.128.20.241255.255.255.0internaltraffic-group-local-onlyCommon

     

    Personally, i feel how it's presented is not user friendly, it makes more sense to name it to "internal" and "internal_floating" instead
