To create New Partition and Router Domain in existing working F5 LTM device
Hi All,
Currently We have F5 LTM device load balancing internal application server in one arm mode. Everything is working on default partition and route domain. User --- Network devices --- Internal Switch -- F5 LTM -- Internal Application Server..
I have new requirement for hosting DMZ web server through VS on same F5 LTM device.I am planning to create new partition and route domain for this DMZ segment on F5 LTM. Please let me know, what are changes will be require for doing this changes.
And Also My query is when we create new partition and route domain on F5 LTM, whether it will affect the existing configuration (delete or modify) and also whether we need to reload the F5 LTM device also to take place the changes which we made in the network.

Your best bet is to read this: https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/manuals/product/tmos-ip-routing-administration-11-2-0/2.html.
As far as I know this shouldn't affect the existing configuration or traffic, or require a reboot. Always best to plan for the worst of course.

So, I need to create only route domain; No need for Partition to achieve the same.
Also what will happen to existing configuration which is in default route domain. whether I need to migrate them to new route domain or same will be working on default route domain..

Well, perhaps we should step back a bit first. Why do you want to use a RD in the first place? Would a different VLAN and/or interface not suffice?

Since I have only one appliance which is meant for Internal application and Internet facing DMZ webserver.
F5 LTM is implemented with load balancing Internal application server now. Now, we have new requirement to load balance Internet facing DMZ webserver.
To segregate, Internet facing DMZ webserver traffic from Internal Application, we are planning to create separate partition and route domain (virtualise the One F5 LTM into two separate appliance).

Hey Anil, did you ever come to a resolution on your design? I'm having the exact same issue right now.
