Jan 12, 2013TCP timeout
I had this issue, and I had to change the timeout in my TCP profile to solve the issue.
My question is what is the recommended TCP timeout value when deploying exchange 2010.

- Helen_Johnson_1Historic F5 AccountHello,
Have a look at page 65 of our deployment guide: http://www.f5.com/pdf/deployment-guides/microsoft-exchange2010-iapp-dg.pdf
As a general rule, Microsoft has recommended a TCP timeout of 7200 seconds for different services. We make a point of matching that in our guidance.
Please let me know if you have further questions.
Cheers,

hI have been attempting to find documentation regarding timeout values. Pg 65/66 only mentions the tcp timeout for rpc, but what about activesync? From what i understand microsoft recommends 30 minutes on firewalls, however the aformentioned design guides states that activesync virtuals should use the default of 300 seconds.
The following solution states thetcp timeout should be 1800 seconds

So which is it?
