System Management Through LTM

Hi,

 

 

I have had a request from our sytems devision that they wish to be able to connect to individual systems behind the LTM in order to manage them.

 

 

For example they would like to connect to an individual memeber in a pool via, ftp, ssh, telnet, http etc.

 

 

I would presume that this could be accomplished by creating pools with an individual systems in each of them and an individual VS for each pool and set them to allow all ports.

 

 

Should this be enough or is there another setting that I should be aware of.

    Using a virtual server is the most common method. You might also want to limit who is able to access that VIP using packet filters.

     

     

    A search for 'administrative access nodes' on AskF5 returns SOL7229 (Click here), which details some options for allowing admin access to nodes through the BIG-IP.
