sorry to have posted without checking the support f5 website..... I found the solution.....

 

 

Network failover is an option if the distance between two BIG-IP systems exceeds the acceptable length for a failover cable. The maximum serial cable length is 50 feet. For available sizes, refer to SOL1901: Obtaining a longer serial failover cable for BIG-IP or 3-DNS.
