Hi Dojs, I'm little bit confused, are you trying HTTP Basic or HTTP Form POST single sign-on?

Dojs, could you confirm if webserver are sending the "HTTP 401 Challenge" and the browser are prompting for an user and password? Because if BIG-IP are not sending that "Authorization" header, or you forgot to set the "SSO Credential Mapping", or the user/password are wrong, a messagebox should be prompted to put user and password values.
If you can, please send here your access policy setup and VPE print.

A page requesting login is a form.
A browser pop up requesting user / password is based on a 401 response. This can be basic, ntlm or negotiate
If it is a page, you have to monitor the post request to configure the form sso.
