Source IP Used for GTM monitoring

Hi guys,

I wish to create a https monitoring to a URL That is hosting in the datacentre but not via the LTM and I wish to achieve this by using GTM generic host + monitoring. Something I didn't click is - how the GTM decide which source ip to use for monitoring. I thought it will simply follow the routing table to make a decision but it doesn't appear to be the case. I have a monitor failed, stating the checks is from one of my LTM's self IP...I don't recall any references to LTMs when I created the monitor. Can you get my head around this one please?

Cheers, Gabe

The monitor should definitely follow the default route or specified route and appear from the self ip on the vlan associated with it.

  • Is your server object in a data center within GTM? If so, do you have a prober pool assigned to that data center that includes the LTM that is polling it?
