Solarwinds showing massive receive discards, not present in TMSH or on the TMM. Wrong OID?
We are using Solarwinds Orion to monitor our F5 LTM HA pair. When I check statistics from the tmsh I see absolutely clean levels of discards, yet on Solarwinds not the case.
tmsh show /net vlan North is reporting no issues
yet I am seeing the following from SWO:
Interface Errors & Discards Receive Transmit Errors This Hour0 errors 0 errors Errors Today 0 errors 0 errors
Discards This Hour 8,937,201 discards 0 discards
Discards Today 396,071,360 discards 0 discards

what version of TMOS and what oid are you currently using? - Chris_Payne_183

BIG-IP 11.4.1 Build 637.0 Hotfix HF3 I believe we are using the correct OID = 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.13 specifically 1568 (ifInDiscards) But the results are not what I'm expecting to see - Richard_22613

We are having the same issue, does this have to do with a bug in NPM 11.5.3 ?

The same thing is happening on our standby BigIP device. Through tcpdump, it seems that the standby device is picking up the floating IP traffic as its own but discarding it since it is on standby. This is why the discards are present in the TMM interface and not on the physical.
