Oct 02, 2008SNMP Traps user_alert.conf
I am trying to get snmp traps sent when a node or pool becomes unavalable or available. It looks they are defined in the alert.conf file by default
I see nothing in the tcpdump when I take node or pool down.
We are at 9.1.2 Build 40.2
In the use_alert.conf file the is the following:
alert FilterTrap "discard on vlan (.*?)
can someone tell me what that means, or where to look it up?
Thanks, John Stewart

Hi John,
You can search AskF5 or the monitoring forum (Click here) for details on configuring syslog-ng for default/custom SNMP alerts. If you get stuck, try posting in the monitoring forum for help.
