SNMP Traps user_alert.conf

Question

I am trying to get snmp traps sent when a node or pool becomes unavalable or available. It looks they are defined in the alert.conf file by default 
&nbsp;  
&nbsp; I see nothing in the tcpdump when I take node or pool down. 
&nbsp;  
&nbsp; We are at 9.1.2 Build 40.2 
&nbsp;  
&nbsp; In the use_alert.conf file the is the following: 
&nbsp;  
&nbsp; alert FilterTrap "discard on vlan (.*?) 
&nbsp;  
&nbsp; can someone tell me what that means, or where to look it up? 
&nbsp;
