SMTP 530 Error
Has anyone encountered error 530 on smtp?
I have configured smtp on my big-ip but when i run a test mail I'm getting the below error message
[<-] 220 host1.mic.co.za Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service ready at Mon, 24 Feb 2020 11:08:26 +0200
[->] HELO host1.mic.co.za
[<-] 250 host2.mic.co.za Hello [172.172.172.120]
[->] MAIL FROM:<root@Big-ip.mic.co.za>
[<-] 530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated

Hi,
Sometimes SMTP server require authentication from client (BIG-IP). Have you configure username and password on BIG-IP?
Normally SMTP 530 error occurs due to below issues,
- Invalid Authentication (wrong login creds)
- Invalid recipient's mail
- Blacklisted/Blocked IP Address
Also error code 530 implies 530, Must issue a STARTTLS command first. Encryption required for requested authentication mechanism.
