Not sure if you are aware, but we actually added a SharePoint 2007 security policy in one of the more recent releases of ASM (I believe it was v9.4.2).

 

 

So securing your MOSS deployment may be as easy as selecting that SharePoint policy. It was built to thwart most of the http based attacks we have seen launched against MOSS.

 

 

The ASM Configuration Guide has some more information on the actual policy.
