Service-now integration with Big-ip LTM
Hi experts, our company is looking into automation for which we have to integrate our LTM with service-now ticketing system. I am not sure which additional components required from F5 side to do this. we haven't outline the project details yet but let's say if someone want to setup new VIP then all they need to do is just open up change request in service-now where they need to fill out template which has all necessary F5 info like ip, load-balancing method, profile etc. Once requester provide these info, F5 would configured requested VIP automatically rather than configured manually on F5.
what kind of logic and components required on F5?
Thanks

Service-Now MID servers sitting on-premise (even if SN is hosted) have the ability to call powershell scripts. This would allow you to use our Powershell iControl snap-in and script some automation to use with SN's service catalog offering.
Of course put the request into a workflow so you can have some form of approval process but it's all doable.

Try making outbound SOAP calls within a workflow. You might also try using outbound REST calls which run the MID server. You can then interact with the REST APIs which resemble the tmsh functionality for adding and removing pools.
