When we do tracert from serevers both lying under load balancer we are seeing first hop as non-floating self ip but it should be floating self ip as i think am i missing something?

The floating IP doesn't not constiuate a 'hop' as it is a virtual address that doesn't route any packets, this is done by the self IP which you have discovered. The active device will answer ARP requests on behalf of the floating IP.
