Hello all,
using SAML SSO, in the SAML messages there's an element AuthContextClassRef, where a service provider can ask the identity provider to use certain authentication method and vice versa...

Unfortunately, it's not possible today. I strongly encourage you to open a case with F5 support and ask it to be linked to bug id 445569 to track interest and demand.

- Gabriel_V_13146Apr 15, 2014CirrusThank you. At least we know where are the boundaries, what we can count with :)
- Mattias_AnderssMar 19, 2015NimbostratusThis is a year old post, any update on this? We currently on 11.6 and we cannot find a way to modify authNContextClassRef. Is there any work around with iRules to set this value?
- Michael_Koyfma1Mar 19, 2015CirrusIt is coming in v12.0 later this year.
- Mattias_AnderssMar 23, 2015NimbostratusThank you Michael! We will look into v12.0 when it arrives
- amolariFeb 10, 2016CirrostratusHi Michael apparently it hasn't been added to 12.0 (HF1). Has it been postponed to 12.1?
- Michael_Koyfma1Feb 10, 2016CirrusAlex, what exactly are you looking for? In v12, under IDP configuration, there is Authentication Context Class Reference field that will set this value.

You can also set this in "Local SP Services" when you have remote IdP. Under advanced settings
