We have a 3600 Series running 11.4.1 version. We lost the "root" password and I have followed the steps on the well known procedure to recover the password (I have used it successfully...

Altostratusyou can only reset root password with this procedure. Reboot the device, login to console with root user. Then change admin password ussing the following command:
tmsh modify auth user admin password
