REST versus SNMP traps
SNMPv3 is default for alarming on F5 faults or exceeded thresholds with my company. Since SNMP depends on agentX the work on SNMP trap alarming is not that easy to configure on many F5 objects or performance metrics. I am thinking about REST method because Event Management station that we are using supports REST. Any opinion on this or similar approach?

SNMP is tried and tested and a lot of organizations across multiple industries rely on it. I think SNMP has greater number of features than REST. REST is great for querying information related to configuration and for making some changes. I think these two serve different functions, at least for now and SNMP should not be replaced with REST.
