pushing out proxysettings with APM VPE, is it possible?

We´ve setup a vpn solution using the APM module and i want to push out a proxysetting to all clients using the VPE instead of using the networkaccess config, does anyone know if that is possible to do? I was thinking that using a variable assignment would work, but i am not sure how and havent found anything to point me in the correct direction.. any help would be very much appreciated.
