For the Trial phase of the F5 BIG-IP lab license, it is intended to be a BIG-IP LTM VE only. With that being said limitations have been placed on the VE to prevent other modules from being provisioned and configured.
If you would like to demo an APM VE, I would recommend contacting your F5 Account Manager to discuss a APM VE trial.
