ping showing LB Self Ip

Hi ,

 

Here is Scenario,

 

 

I have pool memeber 192.168.195.X and VIP is (192.168.166.100) ...... self ip on box is (192.168.195.1, 10.10.10.50.192.168.166.10)

 

 

all pool member default gateway pointing to 192.168.192.1

 

 

LB Route.. default gw 192.168.166.1

 

10.0.0.0 /8 10.10.10.3

 

 

There is not SNAT enable. just VIP and only one Pool member . simple config

 

 

My source is 10.66.66.100 from where i pinging. when i ping to VIP . I see reply coming from 10.10.10.50 (LB SELF IP) why ?

    Indeed and thanks. Just working it out for myself to improve my understanding. I'm still not sure about the Self IP being used instead of the Virtual Address though. Have you tested/confirmed that behavior?
