Excuse the double post above. One more thing that comes to mind is that if the HTTPClient pooling is not used then there seems to be no issue. The application server hosts both internal connections from internal users (no pooling on HTTP Client) and also web users (where http pooling is used). So internal users seem to be fine, only seems to be an issue with the external internt connections which utilise the HTTPClient pool configuration. Again apologies for my ignorance when it comes to http 1.1 and this HTTPClient Pool concept.
