persistance vs session idle timout

Hi, I would like to ask you if persistance timeout is refresh on same way as session idle timout and if original session is cleared from session table then what happen with persistance entry. We are using DSR mode on most applications and we had a problem than even original session is still active persistance expired. If we uses persistance to indefinetly we found that clients are not loadbalanced across nodes corretly thanks for reply
