passive mode rather than active pulling node status

Hello,

 

 

Does Big-IP support passive mode in terms of detecting service status? We don't like the way that services monitor on balancer keeps pulling information from back-end server to determine if it is dead, we want back-end server to send service status to Big-IP whenver it is necessary and Big-IP can mark the server down based on information it received.

 

 

Is this possible, if yes, how can I configure that?
