Aug 08, 2008ntp file update problem
I'm seeing this message in a few pairs of 6400 LTMs running 9.3.1. In /var/log/messages, I get this:
Aug 8 16:06:33 bigip2 SubDomain: REJECTING w access to /etc/ntp.drift.TEMP (ntpd(1190) profile /usr/sbin/ntpd active /usr/sbin/ntpd)
In /var/log/daemon.log, I get this:
Aug 8 16:06:33 bigip2 ntpd[1190]: can't open /etc/ntp.drift.TEMP: Permission denied
The permissions on the file are:
[root@bigip2:Active] log ll /etc/ntp.drift.TEMP
-rw-r--r-- 1 ntp ntp 0 Jun 26 20:18 /etc/ntp.drift.TEMP
The process is running as the user ntp:
1190 ? SL 0:08 ntpd -c /config/ntp.conf -U ntp -p /var/run/ntpd.pid ...
What am I missing?

Hi,
Subdomain is blocking ntpd from write access to the ntp.drift.TEMP file. You can contact F5 Support for help in resolving this (Click here).

I just added a line to the appropriate subdomain file, and it looks like that took care of it. Thanks hoolio.
