We are experiencing exactly the same problem on our production SharePoint 2010 environment. Any other browser, Firefox, Chrome etc. works without any issue. If you put IE9 into Compatability mode with browser mode as IE9 and Document Mode as IE7 this works fine. I am really struggling with this and could really do an answer if possible.
