Glad you got it working. I still suggest you try DNS or host file resolution of www.abc.com to the VIP address and have the clients use www.abc.com. This would allow you to use a more efficient VIP type and not require an iRule.

But if that doesn't work for you and the IP VIP with an iRule does, then so it goes...

  • Hi Aaron,

Whether we want to made DNS resolution in the LTM or in the corresponding server's /etc/hosts

The hostname resolution of www.abc.com to the VIP address would need to be done by the clients--not on LTM.

  • Dear Aaron,

Already our client's www.abc.com have one Public IP which is configured as pool member. In this how our client can maintain the hostname resolution to the VIP address, since it's happening through internet too.
