node flagged as DOWN

when the f5 device automatically flags a node as DOWN, i.e. the web service on port 80 is down, does the device stop requests from hitting the node? i have seen that DISABLED nodes receive no requests, but i wanted to know for sure whether DOWN nodes operated the same way.

thanks!

  • The answer is yes. If a health monitor flags a node as down, then no further requests will be forwarded to that node until a future health check determines the node is up.
