Monitors LTM/LC

Hello,

I am litle confused about behavior monitors

What is the difference from one monitor LC(link controler)gateway_icmp aliased ip: 8.8.8.8 for a monitor created in LTM, gateway_icmp too marked transparent yes, with alias ip 8.8.8.8 ? Because in LC dosent have the transparente option

And the real diferrecen in gateway_icmp monitor and bigip_link?

EX: I have LINK A

Whats the behavior, type of test if i put gateway_icmp moniot in it and if i put bigiplink
