Migration to iSeries and masterkey
Hello,
I would like to have some information concerning the migration to Iseries. More precisely I will do a migration from 3600 11.5.3HF2 to Iseries 2600 12.1.1.
In the past with old platform (not iseries), I just used ucs with the command line "tmsh load sys ucs name no-license no-platform-check" without other command concerning masterkey. I see for the new platform there is a new migrate option.
My questions are the following:
1) The masterkey is mandatory? I've heard that i have to know it for this new plaform.
2) If it is not configured there is a default configuration?
3) If it is mandatory, why my last installation didn't fail?
4) If I have to know it, I have to generate a new masterkey?
Thank you very much for your help.
Best Regards,

Hi,
masterkey is mandatory if the configuration contains encrypted passwords, such as:
- SSL Profiles using certificates with password protected key
- APM AAA / Kerberos SSO admin passwords
