Migration from 6900 to a VCMP instance
Hi,
We are running 11.3+HF6 on a 6900 platform. We want to scale up and add more LTM instances. Hence the plan is to migrate to a 10250v and create VCMP instances on the new platform.
Would I be able to migrate a UCS archive from the 6900 directly to a 10250v VCMP instance ?
Any experience, tips ?
My current thinking is :
- Setup 10250v with lan, HA setup
- License 10250v
- Create VCMP instances
- Import in the UCS with the -nolicense option.
Some solution articles on the UCS import indicate that UCS arcvhices can be imported onto the same platform as they were exported from. Is this also applicable in this scenario ? where it is a hardware platform to VCMP migration ?
Thank you for your inputs.

Setup 10250v with lan, HA setup
ha is set on vcmp guest (not vcmp host).
Import in the UCS with the -nolicense option.
you also need no-platform-check option.
root@(ve11b)(cfg-sync In Sync)(Active)(/Common)(tmos) load sys ucs test.ucs ? Options: no-license This option mostly is for RMA use. It loads full configuration from a UCS file except license file. no-platform-check Bypass platform check. passphrase Passphrase for (un)encrypting UCS. reset-trust Reset device and trust domain certificates and keys when loading a UCS.
