We run our Operations Manager console on virtual servers and they occassionally need to be moved. It looks like the licensing is still tied to MAC address so I need a new license now. Is this going ...

Hello,
Currently, the primary environment check we do for validating the license is the MAC address.
Are you using VMWare to provide virtualization hosting? If so, there are settings to help manage the MAC address during hosting and vMotions.
Here is an link to a VMWare Knowledge Article providing more details:
http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1541
The MAC address is auto-generated by the VMWare host, and during vMotion and power cycles, the host attempts to maintain the same value. However, it is not guaranteed. You can also override the value by manually setting the MAC address value via the .vmx file.
If you can determine the previous MAC address, you may able to override the MAC address in the current running instance and restore your original license.
If that doesn't work, let us know, and we'll provide you a new license key.
Let us know if that helps,
Stephen Fisher
