memcached load balancing

Hi

 

We have a load balancing configuration on our LTM-VE's and load balance memcached instances in an active/passive configuration so only one memcached server is used at any time. Our apps guys have advised that they are experiencing timeouts when using the load balancer VIP but not if they direct traffic direct to the server.

 

Does anyone have experience with load balancing memcached and can offer advice? We are running F5 LTM-VE v12.1.3.5 on ESX 6.7

    No. The current configuration just uses a standard pool pointing to the memcached server on port 11211, and a standard VIP. Could an iApp template help here?

    I am not sure if iApp template will help here but yes would recommend to go for iApp template as it creates optimized configuration. Also check overall throughput of F5 instance if it is limiting anything.
