Feb 03, 2010LTM Volume Formatted
Hello All - what's the best way to recover a LTM 3600 after an accidental format of the volume ? The command issued was meant to format the volume HD1.2, but HD1.1 got formatted accidentally.
Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Aaron - the current ver is 10.0.1 on both volumes. - hoolio

Are you using volumes or slots? Either way, you can use switchboot to boot to HD1.2 if that still has a valid installation. For volumes, you should be able to reinstall 10.0.1 on HD1.1 from the GUI. Or you could use image2disk from HD1.2's command line. - gkorah_32913

Aaron - this is the situation, I think after the format, the LTM rebooted to the MOS. I was able to capture the last few messages b4 the unit went down. Not sure if this helps, but pls see below. - hoolio

What do you see on the serial console now during boot up? While the unit boots, what does the grub menu show for each slot? - gkorah_32913

during the reboot, there's an option for either EUD or TMOS. - offset_68718Historic F5 AccountMight I ask what command(s) you ran to accidentally format this system?

That looks handy, but the most common thing I need to do is grab a bigip.conf or bigip.license from an inactive slot and use it on the current slot. cpcfg looks like it does the opposite and loads the full config via a UCS.
