LTM Self IP requirement.
Hi All,
I have some question regarding LTM deployment.
Below is the scenario.
only one F5 stand alone.
My internet link is terminated on Router. From router to F5 have one connectivity which is 2.1 F5 Interface. then F5 to L2 Switch have connectivity which is 2.2 F5 interface. Servers are also connected same Switch.
then how many Self ip i will configure on F5 LB.
One self IP or Two Self Ip.
I hope above Question is understand.

In that case you will need 2 Self IPs, one for 2.1 and one for 2.2. You can`t assign 1 IP on 2 different interfaces.

It will depend on how you want to configure your BIG-IP (one armed or multi-armed).
Based on your description it seems that you plugged two interfaces.
If these interfaces are in different subnets, then you will need to create two VLANs and create two Self IPs, one in each VLAN (multi-armed).
That's why you will need to create two Self IPs.
If these interfaces are in same subnet, then you don't need to create two VLANs only one will do the job.
You can use either one interface (and deconnect the other one) for this VLAN or create a "trunk" with both interfaces and assign a unique Self IP for this VLAN.

Having to assume a lot here. I am not making a recommendation. Just answering based on what you posted.
Two Self-IPs, 1 for the router to F5 network and 1 for F5 to the switch network. From the F5 perspective there are two VLANs needed.
Don't forget the management interface.
