LTM DICOM Load Balancing

Hi all,

 

we have a new requirements to load balance DICOM server, which is medical images systems. those servers are listening on multiple ports so for now I have the VIP set up to listen on all ports until we get this sorted out.

 

to narrow the scope of troubling down, I have disabled one of the 2 pool members so that we would know what server we are connected to. I use a utility that tests the connectivity on port 104. if I connect to the pool member directly, it takes less than a second to complete, while if I test against the VIP itself, it takes about 45 seconds.

 

there's nothing special about the VIP and all just about all defaults without http profile, because when I add the http profile, it goes to almost 2 minutes.

 

any ideas?
