Logical Disk Full to Migrate rSeries

Hello Community

I hope  You're Well!!!

I have in process to migrate services of iSeries platform (i4800) to rSeries(r2800), but i have a question i review the actual configuration of iSeries and i see the resources.

I am concerned about the logical disk usage, as, according to the attached image, there is high disk usage in vg-in-use.

According to the R2800 datasheet, the hard drive has a capacity of 480 GB M.2.

Could this affect the migration, or is any resizing necessary, or can troubleshooting be performed on the current iSeries?

Thanks!!!!

  • Hi Stan,

The i4000 series devices have a 1TB disk. It appears that 741 GB of space has been allocated for the /appdata directory, and only 9.3 GB of that is currently in use. Normally, this partition(appdata) shouldn’t be this large; it may have been manually increased.

I don’t think there will be any issues when migrating to the r2000. After installing the tenant on the r2800 device, could you please check the size of the /appdata partition? If it is less than 10 GB, you should increase it.

If you will migrate using UCS Backup, the backup size will indicate the current status.

Alternatively, you can add the rSeries device to the HA cluster and perform the migration via synchronization.
