last one: precision of timer behind session add

(I hope i'm not annoying people by asking questions that could be answered through testing. Unfortunately, I currently only have intermittent access to our working boxes so i can't run many tests and have to rely heavily on documentation and forums.)

 

 

Last question for today:

 

 

Regarding the "session add ... " command: with what precision is the timeout followed? Is the timeout checked whenever the value is read or cleaned up by a periodic thread in the background?

 

 

My specific case:

 

If i set a timeout of, say, 10 seconds and then I attempt to get the value 11 seconds later, is it reliably going to NOT be there? would it work for 5 seconds ? for 1 second ?
