Is LTM 12.1.3 compatible with GTM 11.4.1

I am going to apply patch 12.1.3 on LTMs for newly discovered vulnerability CVE-2017-6168.

 

I realized that our GTM version is old, 11.4.1. Currently, iQuery is working among LTM 12.0.0 and GTM 11.4.1. I assume that would continue to be the case with LTM 12.1.3 ? Otherwise, I'd worry about the possible downtime.

 

If I'd upgrade GTM, do I use the same downloaded iso file ? And existing zone setting will be preserved if I upgrade from 11.4.1 to 12.1.3 ?

    On the LTM 12.1.3 with GTM 11.4.1 compatibility, I have tried, as the LTM allows a different boot disks, the 12.1.3 LTM is talking to GTM 11.4.1 just fine.

     

    Upgrade GTM 11.4.1 to BigIP DNS could be a big undertaking ? I can only upgrade GTM if there is not much manual configuration (zone files) work. Any directions on this would be much appreciated.
