irule to prevent multiple auto launch instances for a webpage

Anyone have a suggestion on an irule which will detect an already established VPN connection through APM using BIG IP Client and prevent this client from reconnecting when you close/open lid on a machine running Mac OSX specifically?

 

Current scenario - 1. Connect with BIG IP client (Mac OSX) 2. Connecting 3. Enter credentials 4. Connected 5. NOTE: We configured on APM a staff webpage that auto launches when user gets successfully connected.

 

issue - 1. During an active session, if user closes the lid and re-opens it, the VPN at this point attempts to reconnect, and when the connection is established another instance of that staff webpage auto launches (on a different tab). So now you have 2 of the same webpage. This will repeat after each close/re-opening of the machine lid.

 

F5 have recommended to disable this configuration on the APM to not auto launch the page which would make sense,but wanted to explore any options in writing an irule that can detect an already established connection and prevent the client from reconnecting so as a result only showing one occurrence of the auto launch of that webpage.
