Hello!

I am network engineer, and have an interesting about F5. So i want to know irule can be coded by python or not. Because i do not want to learn so many programming languages.

Best regards!

  • Sorry, no. iRules are natively written in Tool Command Language (TCL), and very soon will have some node.js tie-ins. But Python isn't an option, unless you use Python in an iControl to push iRules to a BIG-IP, in which case you still have to know TCL.

The good news is that 1) TCL and iRules specifically are very easy to learn and the Wiki and documentation on this site are phenomenal, and 2) you'll be a better IT admin for knowing more languages!
