Is there a quality visual python development environment out there? I may take this on since we now have pyControl...

Nice! I'm not a python guy, so I can't help much with recommending a visual python environment, but I'd love to see you take this on elah! You go! :D

Scratch that...it looks like you can run .net applications on linux now with mono.

Yes. As of MonoDevelop 0.13, Visual Studio 2005 projects can be opened, manipulated, and saved.

Active State has some pretty good Visual Development Tools for TK/TCL, perl, Python, Ruby, etc.

The only download I can find is a .msi file, which requires Windows...
