Mar 09, 2017IPv6 Internet access, ISP p2p addressing /127 range
I would need to go by with using /127 IPv6 address for connecting with my ISP using HA cluster.
As far as I can tell I'd need a local self IP on both cluster members and floating IP all from sa...

Mar 09, 2017Hi Jari,
a IPv6 subnet of
/127 contains just the network and broadcast address without any usable IP addresses left over for your F5. Even if you're going to use the network and broadcast address for your Self/Floating IP you'll need at least 3 unique IPs within the same subnet which require at least a /126 mask.
You may try to increase the subnetmask on your end (without informing your ISP) and then put the Float-IP into the range of the assigned
/127 subnet and the Self-IPs on the remaining non-assigned /126 subnet. This will allow the ISP to communicate with your Floating-IP (important) but not your Self-IPs (most likely not required).
But I guess the better option would be to ask your ISP to increase the size of the transfer network to a mask of
/126 or even /125. IPv6 addresses aren't that rare... 😉
Cheers, Kai
