Integrating LTM with GTM and Defining Address List for BIG-IP System

Hey All,

 

We've recently integrated our LTMs with our GTMs and I have a question in regards to the address list when you define the LTM on the GTM. Our LTMs have a routed interface configured that other network devices use when defining static routes for the subnets that reside on the LTM. At the moment I've defined the routed interface as the only address within the address list on the GTM. Is it necessary to define the other self IPs of the LTM within the address list? The other self IPs are the gateway addresses for the servers that reside behind the LTM.

  • It should not be necessary to add the other LTM self-ips to the server object address list on GTM. GTM just needs an address it can reach on the LTM to open the iquery connection for communication.

     

  • Yes, the GTM will delegate monitor tasks to other BIG-IPs once they are added to the GTMs config. See these articles for more info on the monitoring functionality:
