Increase the tomcat service memory

Hi,

 

I have checked the F5 document for increasing the tomcat service memory. Have couple of questions.

 

Q1. User has asked to increase the memory to be increased by 1GB, where as f5 recommends to increase 20MB, if I increase 1GB will there be any after effects?

 

Q2. Below mentioned command has to be implemented on both active and standby separately or only on active?

 

modify /sys db provision.tomcat.extramb value 20

    Q1 - Why would increase it to 1GB? Allocating additional memory to Apache Tomcat may impact the performance and stability of the BIG-IP system. You should not perform this unless there is a good reason to do or have been advised by F5 support.

     

    Q2 - Yes, you have to I believe.
