Impact on CPU when using Standard or Performance L4 type virtual servers
I am using a VIPRION 4450 blade and would like to understand the impact on CPU performance when using Standard virtual servers or Performance L4 type virtual servers. Which virtual server type will use more CPU and why?
Traffic Type: HTTP or HTTPS traffic with no SSL offload Approximate connection count 10K connections/sec per VIP

Perform layer 4 is faster than standard most of the time. In theory, they have similar functionality but perform layer 4 uses fast layer 4 profile. If you are using a platform with PVA (or the new variants of PVA), the traffic will be processed by the PVA. Without PVA the traffic is processed by TMM (F5 kernel), and that uses the CPU. With PVA, that is processed within the PVA, so less work for the CPU.
