Impact of swapping between network and serial failover

I've got a pair of HA 3900 LTMs that are in the same cabinet and connected with a serial failover cable. I have to physically relocate them in the data center, and depending on the other logistics, they may need to be more than 50' apart for a week or so until the move is finished. I figure one thing I could do is to switch it from serial to network failover, then move the first unit and bring them up as a network-heartbeat HA pair. Then after I eventually move the other one, I could cable them back up and return to serial failover.

 

What's the impact on operation of switching between serial and network or between network and serial?
